Said [Moses]: "O my Sustainer! Open up my heart [to Thy light,] 25 And ease my task for me; 26 Unloose the knot upon my tongue, 27 That they may understand my speech. 28 And appoint for me a minister from my family - 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 "Add to my strength through him, 31 and let him share my task, 32 That we may exalt You much 33 "And remember Thee without stint: 34 "Verily! You are of us Ever a Well-Seer." 35 God said, "You have been granted your request, Moses." 36 Already another time We favoured thee, 37 “When We inspired in your mother’s heart whatever was to be inspired.” 38 “That, ‘Put him into a chest and cast it into the river, so the river shall deposit it on to a shore therefore one who is an enemy to Me and you, shall pick him up’; and I bestowed upon you love from Myself; and for you to be brought up in My sight.” 39 When your sister went and said: Shall I direct you to one who will take charge of him? So We brought you back to your mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve and you killed a man, then We delivered you from the grief, and We tried you with (a severe) trying. Then you stayed for years among the people of Madyan; then you came hither as ordained, O Musa. 40 I have chosen you for Me. 41 Go, you and your brother, with My signs and do not slacken in My remembrance. 42 Go to Pharaoh, for he has become insolent. 43 Then say to him a gentle saying; haply he may be admonished or he may fear. 44 They said, "Lord, we are afraid of his transgression and rebellion against us". 45 He replied: 'Have no fear I shall be with you, both hearing and seeing. 46 "So go you both to him, and say: 'Verily, we are Messengers of your Lord, so let the Children of Israel go with us, and torment them not; indeed, we have come with a sign from your Lord! And peace will be upon him who follows the guidance! 47 it has been revealed to us that punishment shall overtake him who rejects it and turns away!'" 48 (When this message was delivered), (Pharaoh) said: "Who, then, O Moses, is the Lord of you two?" 49 Musa said: our Lord is He who vouchsafed unto everything its creation, then guided it. 50 He then asked, "What do you know about the past generations?" 51 He said: The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a Record. My Lord neither erreth nor forgetteth, 52 [It is He] who has made for you the earth as a bed [spread out] and inserted therein for you roadways and sent down from the sky, rain and produced thereby categories of various plants. 53 Eat (for yourselves) and pasture your cattle: verily, in this are Signs for men endued with understanding. 54
