[Musa (Moses)] said: "O my Lord! Open for me my chest (grant me self-confidence, contentment, and boldness). 25 and ease my task for me. 26 “And untie the knot of my tongue.” 27 That they may understand my speech. 28 And appoint for me a minister from my household. 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 Add Thou through him to my strength, 31 and let him share my task 32 So shall we glorify Thee, 33 And remember you a great deal. 34 Lo! Thou art ever Seeing us. 35 He answered: "Granted is your prayer, O Moses. 36 Indeed, We showed Our favour to you before also, 37 when We revealed what was revealed unto thy mother: 38 "Saying: 'Put him (the child) into the Tabut (a box or a case or a chest) and put it into the river (Nile), then the river shall cast it up on the bank, and there, an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his shall take him.' And I endued you with love from Me, in order that you may be brought up under My Eye, 39 “When your sister went, then said, ‘Shall I show you the people who may nurse him?’ And We brought you back to your mother in order to soothe her eyes and that she may not grieve; and you killed a man, so We freed you from sorrow, and tested you to the maximum; you therefore stayed for several years among the people of Madyan; then you came (here) at an appointed time, O Moosa.” 40 And I chose you for Myself. 41 Go, thou and thy brother, with My tokens, and be not faint in remembrance of Me. 42 "Go, both of you, to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed (all bounds in disbelief and disobedience and behaved as an arrogant and as a tyrant). 43 "And speak to him mildly, perhaps he may accept admonition or fear Allah." 44 They both submitted, “Our Lord – indeed we fear that he may oppress us or deal mischievously.” 45 He said: "Fear not: for I am with you: I hear and see (everything). 46 So go to him, and say: verily we are two apostles of thy Lord, so let go with us the Children of Isra'il, and torment them not; surely we have come unto thee with a sign from thy Lord: and peace be upon him who followeth the guidance. 47 it has been revealed to us that punishment shall overtake him who rejects it and turns away!'" 48 Said Firaun, “So who is the Lord of you both, O Moosa?” 49 Moses replied, "Our Lord is He who has given everything its form, then guided it." 50 Pharaoh said, 'And what of the former generations?' 51 Moses replied, "The knowledge about it is with my Lord in the Book. My Lord is free from error and forgetfulness. 52 He it is Who spread the earth for you; and made in it paths for you, and sent down water from the sky, and then through it We brought forth many species of diverse plants. 53 so eat and graze your cattle. In this there are signs for men of understanding. 54
