[Moses] said, "My Lord, expand for me my breast [with assurance] 25 And ease for me my task 26 And loose a knot from my tongue. 27 so that they may understand me. 28 And appoint for me a minister from my family - 29 “That is Haroon, my brother.” 30 “Back me up with him.” 31 And let him share my task, 32 so that [together] we might abundantly extol Thy limitless glory 33 “And profusely remember You.” 34 You are surely watching over us. 35 He said, “O Moosa, you have been granted your prayer.” 36 We have again bestowed Our favour upon you. 37 "When We inspired your mother with that which We inspired. 38 "'Throw (the child) into the chest, and throw (the chest) into the river: the river will cast him up on the bank, and he will be taken up by one who is an enemy to Me and an enemy to him': But I cast (the garment of) love over thee from Me: and (this) in order that thou mayest be reared under Mine eye. 39 [And We favored you] when your sister went and said, 'Shall I direct you to someone who will be responsible for him?' So We restored you to your mother that she might be content and not grieve. And you killed someone, but We saved you from retaliation and tried you with a [severe] trial. And you remained [some] years among the people of Madyan. Then you came [here] at the decreed time, O Moses. 40 I have chosen thee for My service; 41 “You and your brother, both go with My signs, and do not slacken in My remembrance.” 42 Go both of you to Pharaoh, for he has transgressed all bounds, 43 But speak gently to him; perhaps he may yet take heed or even feel afraid." 44 'O our Lord,' said Moses and Aaron, 'truly we fear he may exceed against us, or wax insolent.' 45 He said: Fear not, surely I am with you both: I do hear and see. 46 "So go ye both to him, and say, 'Verily we are messengers sent by thy Lord: Send forth, therefore, the Children of Israel with us, and afflict them not: with a Sign, indeed, have we come from thy Lord! and peace to all who follow guidance! 47 It is revealed to us that those who call our message a lie or turn away from it will face the torment." 48 Pharaoh said, "Who then is the Lord of you both, Moses?" 49 He said: "Our Lord is He Who gave everything its form and then guided it." 50 Said Firaun, “What is the state of the former generations?” 51 He said, “Their knowledge is with my Lord, (recorded) in a Book; my Lord neither strays nor forgets.” 52 Who hath appointed the earth as a bed and hath threaded roads for you therein and hath sent down water from the sky and thereby We have brought forth divers kinds of vegetation, 53 (Saying): Eat ye and feed your cattle. Lo! herein verily are portents for men of thought. 54
