The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Their reckoning has drawn near to men, and in heedlessness are they turning aside. 1 Whenever a new advice comes to them from their Lord, they do not listen to it except while playing. 2 Their hearts toying as with trifles. The wrong-doers conceal their private counsels, (saying), "Is this (one) more than a man like yourselves? Will ye go to witchcraft with your eyes open?" 3 He said: "My Lord knows whatever is spoken in the heavens and the earth. He hears all and knows everything." 4 Aye! they say: a medley of dreams; aye! he hath fabricated it; aye! he is a poet; so let him bring us a sign even as the ancients were sent with. 5 (As to those) before them, not one of the populations which We destroyed believed: will these believe? 6 And We sent not before you, [O Muhammad], except men to whom We revealed [the message], so ask the people of the message if you do not know. 7 And We did not make them bodies not eating the food, and they were not to abide (forever). 8 In the end, We made good unto them Our promise, and We saved them and all whom We willed [to save,] and We destroyed those who had wasted their own selves. 9 We have revealed for you (O men!) a book in which is a Message for you: will ye not then understand? 10
