We bestowed the same favour upon Noah. Recall, when he cried to Us before; We accepted his prayer and delivered him and his household from the great distress 76 We helped him against people who rejected Our Signs: truly they were a people given to Evil: so We drowned them (in the Flood) all together. 77 Tell of David and Solomon who both passed judgement on the field into which some people's sheep had strayed [and grazed] at night. We bore witness to their judgement. 78 So We made Sulaiman to understand it; and to each one We gave wisdom and knowledge; and We made the mountains, and the birds to celebrate Our praise with Dawood; and We were the doers. 79 And We taught him the making of coats of mail for you, that they might protect you in your wars; will you then be grateful? 80 And to Solomon the wind, strongly blowing, that ran at his command unto the land that We had blessed; and We had knowledge of everything; 81 And of the rebellious people there were those who dived for him and did other work besides that, and We kept guard over them; 82 ۞ Remember Job when he called on his Lord saying, "I have been afflicted with great distress: but You are the most merciful of the merciful." 83 So We heard his cry and relieved him of the misery he was in. We restored his family to him, and along with them gave him others similar to them as a grace from Us and reminder for those who are obedient. 84 Remember Ishmael and Idris and Dhul Kifl: they were all patient and steadfast. 85 And We caused them to enter into our mercy, verily they are of the righteous. 86 Dhun Nun went away in anger and thought that We would never have power over him, but in darkness he cried, "Lord, You are the Only God whom I glorify. I have certainly done wrong to myself (so forgive me)". 87 We therefore heard his prayer and rescued him from grief; and similarly We shall rescue the Muslims. 88 Zachariah prayed, "Lord, do not leave me alone without offspring, although you are the best heir". 89 So We heard him and gave him John, and cured his wife (of barrenness). These were men who vied in good deeds with one another, and prayed to Us with love and awe, and were meek before Us. 90 And she who guarded her chastity! Then We breathed into her of Our spirit, and made her and her son a sign unto the worlds. 91 Verily this community of yours is a single community, and I am your Lord; so worship Me. 92 And they broke their religion (into sects) between them: to Us shall all come back. 93
