And Nuh, when he cried aforetime, so We answered him, and delivered him and his followers from the great calamity. 76 And We helped him against the people who rejected Our signs as lies. They were a wicked people indeed, so We drowned them one and all. 77 We bestowed the same favour upon David and Solomon. Recall, when they gave judgement regarding a tillage into which the sheep of some people had strayed at night, and We were witnesses to their judgement. 78 and We made Solomon to understand it, and unto each gave We judgment and knowledge. And with David We subjected the mountains to give glory, and the birds, and We were doers. 79 It was We Who taught him the art of making coats of mail for your benefit so that it may protect you from each other's violence. Do you, then, give thanks? 80 We made subservient to Solomon the swift wind that blew on his command to the land in which We had sent blessings. We have the knowledge of all things. 81 We also subjected to him some of the jinn who dived for him in the sea and performed other tasks; We kept a watch over them. 82 ۞ And remember Ayyub (Job), when he called his Lord that, “Hardship has afflicted me, and You are the Most Merciful of all those who have mercy.” 83 Therefore We responded to him and took off what harm he had, and We gave him his family and the like of them with them: a mercy from Us and a reminder to the worshippers. 84 And Ishmael, Idris, Dhul Kifl -- each was of the patient, 85 And We admitted them into Our mercy. Indeed, they were of the righteous. 86 AND [remember] him of the great fish when he went off in wrath, thinking that We had no power over him! But then heeded out in the deep darkness [of his distress]: "There is no deity save Thee! Limitless art Thou in Thy glory! Verily, I have done wrong!" 87 So We answered him, and We delivered him from the distress, and Thus do We deliver the believers. 88 And remember Zakaria, when he prayed to his Lord, “O my Lord – do not leave me alone, and You are the Best Inheritor. 89 So We answered him, and We bestowed on him Yahya and We made sound for him his spouse. Verily they were wont to vie with one another in good deeds and to call upon us with longing and dread, and they were ever before us meek. 90 And (remember) her who guarded her chastity: We breathed into her of Our spirit, and We made her and her son a sign for all peoples. 91 Verily, this brotherhood of yours is a single brotherhood, and I am your Lord and Cherisher: therefore serve Me (and no other). 92 People have divided themselves into many sects, but all will return to Us. 93
