And before this when Nooh called Us – We therefore heard his prayer and rescued him and his household from the great calamity. 76 We helped him against people who denied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). Verily, they were a people given to evil. So We drowned them all. 77 And Daud and Sulaiman! recall what time they gave judgment regarding the tillage when certain people's sheep had pastured therein at night; and of the judgment concerning them We were the Witnesses. 78 We made Solomon to understand it, and to both We gave judgment and knowledge. And with David We subjected the mountains and birds to exalt (Allah). All this We have done. 79 And We taught him the making of metal coats of mail (for battles), to protect you in your fighting. Are you then grateful? 80 We made subservient to Solomon the swift wind that blew on his command to the land in which We had sent blessings. We have the knowledge of all things. 81 And some of the satans dived for him and others did work as well. We were watching over them. 82 ۞ And (remember) Job, when He cried to his Lord, "Truly distress has seized me, but Thou art the Most Merciful of those that are merciful." 83 Then We heard his prayer and removed that adversity from which he suffered, and We gave him his household (that he had lost) and the like thereof along with them, a mercy from Our store, and a remembrance for the worshippers; 84 AND [remember] Ishmael and Idris and every one who [like them] has pledged himself [unto God]: they all were among those who are patient in adversity, 85 and so We admitted them unto Our grace: behold, they were among the righteous! 86 And [mention] the man of the fish, when he went off in anger and thought that We would not decree [anything] upon him. And he called out within the darknesses, "There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers." 87 We heard his prayer and saved him from grief. As such We shall save the believers. 88 And [mention] Zechariah, when he called to his Lord, "My Lord, do not leave me alone [with no heir], while you are the best of inheritors." 89 So We answered him, and bestowed on him John, and We set his wife right for him; truly they vied with one another, hastening to good works, and called upon Us out of yearning and awe; and they were humble to Us. 90 And (remember) her who guarded her chastity: We breathed into her of Our spirit, and We made her and her son a sign for all peoples. 91 Verily this your order is one order, and I am your Lord; so worship Me. 92 But they split up their affair between them; all shall return to Us. 93
