The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ TRULY, to a happy state shall attain the believers: 1 those who humble themselves in their prayer, 2 Who shun all frivolities, 3 And who are payers of the poor-due; 4 And those who of their private parts are guards. 5 [not giving way to their desires] with any but their spouses - that is, those whom they rightfully possess [through wedlock]: for then, behold, they are free of all blame, 6 but those who seek to go beyond that are transgressors -- 7 and who preserve their trusts and their covenant 8 and those who attend to their prayers; 9 These! they are the inheritors. 10 that will inherit the paradise; [and] therein shall they abide. 11 We created man out of the extract of clay, 12 then We placed him as a drop of fluid in a safe place, 13 Thereafter We created the sperm a clot; then We created the clot a lump of flesh; then We created the lump of flesh bones; then We clothed the bones with flesh: thereafter We brought him forth as another creature. Blest then be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 After that, at length ye will die 15 Then verily on the Day of Judgment ye shall be raised up. 16 And We have created above you seven paths, and We are never unmindful of creation. 17 And We have sent down rain from the sky in a measured amount and settled it in the earth. And indeed, We are Able to take it away. 18 And We brought forth for you thereby gardens of palm trees and grapevines in which for you are abundant fruits and from which you eat. 19 And created the tree that comes forth from Mount Sinai – that grows containing oil and curry for the eaters. 20 There is a lesson for you concerning cattle. We provide you with drink from their bellies and many other benefits. You can consume them as meat. 21 and are carried on them and also on ships. 22
