The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Blissful are the believers 1 Those who humble themselves in their prayers; 2 who avoid impious talks, 3 who give charity, 4 And those who of their private parts are guards. 5 except with their spouses and slave-girls. The practice of carnal relations is lawful with them. 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors - 7 who are true to their trusts and their covenants, 8 And those who keep a guard on their prayers; 9 It is they, they who shall be the inheritors 10 Who will inherit Paradise, and live in it for ever. 11 And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay. 12 which was then turned into a living germ and placed in safe depository. 13 and then We create out of the drop of sperm a germ-cell, and then We create out of the germ-cell an embryonic lump, and then We create within the embryonic lump bones, and then We clothe the bones with flesh - and then We bring [all] this into being as a new creation: hallowed, therefore, is God, the best of artisans! 14 After that, at length ye will die 15 Then you will all be raised on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And We have made, above you, seven tracts; and We are never unmindful of (our) Creation. 17 And we send down from the sky water in measure, and We give it lodging in the earth, and lo! We are Able to withdraw it. 18 We have established for you gardens of palm trees and vineyards with this water with many fruits for you to consume. 19 And a tree (olive) that springs forth from Mount Sinai, that grows oil, and (it is a) relish for the eaters. 20 You have a lesson in livestock. We provide you with drink from what is in their bellies, and you have many other benefits from them; some of them you eat, 21 And on them, as well as in ships, ye ride. 22
