The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 Those who humble themselves in their prayers; 2 And those who turn away from Al-Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk, falsehood, and all that Allah has forbidden). 3 And who are payers of the poor-due; 4 And who guard their private parts, 5 save from their wives and what their right hands own then being not blameworthy 6 But those who covet more than this will be transgressors; 7 who are true to their trusts and their covenants, 8 And who pay heed to their prayers. 9 These will be the heirs, 10 Heirs of Paradise, they shall abide in it forever. 11 We created the human from an essence of clay: 12 Thereafter We made him of a sperm in a receptacle safe. 13 and then We create out of the drop of sperm a germ-cell, and then We create out of the germ-cell an embryonic lump, and then We create within the embryonic lump bones, and then We clothe the bones with flesh - and then We bring [all] this into being as a new creation: hallowed, therefore, is God, the best of artisans! 14 And then, behold! after all this, you are destined to die; 15 Then (again), surely, you will be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And certainly We made above you seven heavens; and never are We heedless of creation. 17 And We send down water from the sky according to (due) measure, and We cause it to soak in the soil; and We certainly are able to drain it off (with ease). 18 With it We grow for you gardens of date-palms and vines: in them have ye abundant fruits: and of them ye eat (and have enjoyment),- 19 We have also created for you the tree that grows on Mount Sinai which produces oil and relish for those who use it. 20 You have a lesson in livestock. We provide you with drink from what is in their bellies, and you have many other benefits from them; some of them you eat, 21 And you are carried on them and on the ship. 22
