The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The believers have indeed attained true success: 1 who are humble in their prayers; 2 Who shun all frivolities, 3 and at almsgiving are active 4 and guard their private parts 5 [not giving way to their desires] with any but their spouses - that is, those whom they rightfully possess [through wedlock]: for then, behold, they are free of all blame, 6 But whoever seeks to go beyond that, these are they that exceed the limits; 7 And those who of their trusts and covenant are keepers. 8 and those who attend to their prayers; 9 These! they are the inheritors. 10 Who will inherit al-Firdaus. They will abide therein eternally. 11 And assuredly We created man of an extract of clay. 12 then We made him, a drop, in a secure receptacle (the womb). 13 Then We made the Nutfah into a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood), then We made the clot into a little lump of flesh, then We made out of that little lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We brought it forth as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators. 14 Then indeed, after that you are to die. 15 Again, on the Day of Judgment, will ye be raised up. 16 And We have created above you seven layered heavens, and never have We been of [Our] creation unaware. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure, and lodged it in the earth, and We are able to take it all away. 18 Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palm and vines; for you therein are fruits many, and thereof ye eat. 19 And We also produced the tree which springs forth from Mount Sinai, containing oil and sauce for those that eat. 20 And verily in the cattle for you is a lesson. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are advantages many, and of them ye eat. 21 And you are carried on them and on boats. 22
