The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The believers must (eventually) win through,- 1 Those who in their prayer are lowly. 2 and from idle talk turn away 3 And those who for the sake of purification are doers. 4 and restrain their carnal desires 5 Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they will not be blamed - 6 but those who seek to go beyond that are transgressors -- 7 those who are faithful to their trusts and promises; 8 And who pay heed to their prayers. 9 They are the inheritors. 10 Who will inherit al-Firdaus. They will abide therein eternally. 11 And certainly We created man of an extract of clay, 12 Then We placed him as a sperm in a firmly established lodging; 13 The living germ, then, was turned into a shapeless lump of flesh from which bones were formed. The bones, then, were covered with flesh. At this stage, We caused it to become another creature. All blessings belong to God, the best Creator. 14 Then verily, thereafter, ye are sure to die. 15 Then you will all be raised on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And We have made, above you, seven tracts; and We are never unmindful of (our) Creation. 17 And We send down water from the skies in accordance with a measure [set by Us,] and then We cause it to lodge in the earth: but, behold, We are most certainly able to withdraw this [blessing]! 18 With it, We produced for you gardens of palms and vines, yielding abundant fruit for you to eat. 19 as well as a tree that issues from [the lands adjoining] Mount Sinai, yielding oil and relish for all to eat. 20 And indeed there is also a lesson for you in cattle. We provide you with drink out of what they have in their bellies; and you have many other benefits in them: you eat of them, 21 And you are carried on them and on the ship. 22
