The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
118 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa') before Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ TRULY, to a happy state shall attain the believers: 1 who are submissive to God in their prayers, 2 and from idle talk turn away 3 And who are givers of poor-rate, 4 who strictly guard their private parts 5 except with their wives and what their right hand possess, and then they are not blamed. 6 And whosoever seeketh beyond that, then it is these who are the transgressors 7 And those who are keepers of their trusts and their covenant, 8 And who (strictly) guard their prayers;- 9 They are the inheritors. 10 Who shall inherit the Firdaus (Paradise). They shall dwell therein forever. 11 We have created the human being from an extract of clay 12 Thereafter We made him (the offspring of Adam) as a Nutfah (mixed drops of the male and female sexual discharge) (and lodged it) in a safe lodging (womb of the woman). 13 Then We made the seed a clot, then We made the clot a lump of flesh, then We made (in) the lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, then We caused it to grow into another creation, so blessed be Allah, the best of the creators. 14 And then, behold! after all this, you are destined to die; 15 and you will be brought back to life again on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And indeed, We have created above you seven [celestial] orbits: and never are We unmindful of [any aspect of Our] creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in right measure, and caused it to stay in the earth, and We have the power to cause it to vanish (in the manner We please). 18 Then through water We caused gardens of date-palms and vines to grow for you wherein you have an abundance of delicious fruits and from them you derive your livelihood. 19 Also a tree springing out of Mount Sinai, which produces oil, and relish for those who use it for food. 20 And lo! in the cattle there is verily a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and many uses have ye in them, and of them do ye eat; 21 and by them - as by the ships [over the sea] - you are borne [overland]. 22
