The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Prosperous are the believers 1 those who are humble in their prayer; 2 and who turn away from all that is frivolous, 3 and who are intent on inner purity; 4 And they who guard their private parts 5 Save in regard to their spouses and those whom their right hands own: so they are not blameworthy 6 But whoever seeks to go beyond that, these are they that exceed the limits; 7 Those who faithfully observe their trusts and their covenants; 8 And they who carefully maintain their prayers - 9 These are indeed the inheritors. 10 These are the heirs of Paradise wherein they will live forever. 11 And indeed We created man (Adam) out of an extract of clay (water and earth). 12 Then We placed him as a sperm in a firmly established lodging; 13 Then fashioned We the drop a clot, then fashioned We the clot a little lump, then fashioned We the little lump bones, then clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 Then lo! after that ye surely die. 15 Then will be raised up on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And We created above you seven ways, and We were not heedless of creation. 17 And We send down water from the skies in accordance with a measure [set by Us,] and then We cause it to lodge in the earth: but, behold, We are most certainly able to withdraw this [blessing]! 18 We have produced palm-groves and vineyards for you, in which there are abundant fruits for you; and you eat these, 19 Also a tree springing out of Mount Sinai, which produces oil, and relish for those who use it for food. 20 And lo! in the cattle there is verily a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and many uses have ye in them, and of them do ye eat; 21 and upon them and on the ships you are carried. 22
