The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Successful indeed are the believers; 1 who are submissive to God in their prayers, 2 and from idle talk turn away 3 who give charity, 4 And who guard their private organs. 5 Save from their wives or the (slaves) that their right hands possess, for then they are not blameworthy, 6 And whosoever seeketh beyond that, then it is these who are the transgressors 7 And who are shepherds of their pledge and their covenant, 8 and those who observe their prayers. 9 Those are the inheritors 10 Heirs of Paradise, they shall abide in it forever. 11 We created man from an essence of clay, 12 then We set him, a drop, in a receptacle secure, 13 The living germ, then, was turned into a shapeless lump of flesh from which bones were formed. The bones, then, were covered with flesh. At this stage, We caused it to become another creature. All blessings belong to God, the best Creator. 14 After that, surely, you will die. 15 Again, on the Day of Judgment, will ye be raised up. 16 We have created seven ways above you; of Our creation, We are never inattentive. 17 And we send down from the sky water in measure, and We give it lodging in the earth, and lo! We are Able to withdraw it. 18 So with it We produced gardens of date-palms and grapes for you, in which is abundant fruit for you and you eat therefrom. 19 And We also produced the tree which springs forth from Mount Sinai, containing oil and sauce for those that eat. 20 And lo! in the cattle there is verily a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and many uses have ye in them, and of them do ye eat; 21 and are carried on them and also on ships. 22
