The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers; 1 who are submissive to God in their prayers, 2 those who turn away from all that is frivolous; 3 And who are payers of the poor-due; 4 Who guard their sex 5 Except from their wives or the legal bondwomen that they possess, for then there is no blame upon them. 6 But those whose desires exceed those limits are transgressors;- 7 And those who fulfil their trusts and keep their promises; 8 and those who observe their prayers. 9 These are the real gainers, 10 who shall inherit Paradise therein dwelling forever. 11 Verily We created man from a product of wet earth; 12 Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging. 13 and then We create out of the drop of sperm a germ-cell, and then We create out of the germ-cell an embryonic lump, and then We create within the embryonic lump bones, and then We clothe the bones with flesh - and then We bring [all] this into being as a new creation: hallowed, therefore, is God, the best of artisans! 14 After that, at length ye will die 15 Again, on the Day of Judgment, will ye be raised up. 16 We made several highways one over the other above you. We are not neglectful of creation. 17 And We send down water from the sky according to (due) measure, and We cause it to soak in the soil; and We certainly are able to drain it off (with ease). 18 Then We produced for you therewith gardens of palms and vines wherein are many fruits for you, and of them you eat, 19 And a tree that springeth forth from Mount Sinai that groweth oil and relish for the eaters. 20 And Verily! In the cattle there is indeed a lesson for you. We give you to drink (milk) of that which is in their bellies. And there are, in them, numerous (other) benefits for you, and of them you eat. 21 And you are carried on them and on boats. 22
