The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The believers have indeed attained true success: 1 Those who humbly cry in their prayers. 2 who turn away from idle talk; 3 and at almsgiving are active 4 and guard their private parts 5 save from their wives, or those whom their right hands possess; for with regard to them they are free from blame " 6 But those whose desires exceed those limits are transgressors;- 7 who are true to their trusts and their covenants, 8 and those who attend to their prayers; 9 These will be the heirs, 10 Who will inherit Paradise: they will dwell therein (for ever). 11 And assuredly We created man of an extract of clay. 12 which was then turned into a living germ and placed in safe depository. 13 Then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot We made a (foetus) lump; then we made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then we developed out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah, the best to create! 14 Then after that you shall surely die, 15 Then lo! on the Day of Resurrection ye are raised (again). 16 We have created seven paths above you; We have never been unmindful of Our creation. 17 We send down water from the sky in determined measure, and store it up in the earth; and We have power to drain it away. 18 We have established for you gardens of palm trees and vineyards with this water with many fruits for you to consume. 19 We have also created for you the tree that grows on Mount Sinai which produces oil and relish for those who use it. 20 And behold, in the cattle [too] there is indeed a lesson for you: We give you to drink of that [milk] which is within their bellies; and you derive many [other] uses from them: for, you eat of their flesh, 21 And on them and on the ship ye are carried. 22
