The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 Those who humbly cry in their prayers. 2 And those who from everything vain turn away. 3 those who pay the zakat; 4 and who are mindful of their chastity, 5 except with their spouses and slave-girls. The practice of carnal relations is lawful with them. 6 So whoever desires more than these two – they are crossing the limits. 7 Those who faithfully observe their trusts and their covenants; 8 And those who of their prayers are observant. 9 These are indeed the inheritors. 10 Who will inherit al-Firdaus. They will abide therein eternally. 11 And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay. 12 then We placed him as a drop of fluid in a safe place, 13 Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators. 14 Then indeed, after that you are to die. 15 Then verily on the Day of Judgment ye shall be raised up. 16 We have created seven ways above you; of Our creation, We are never inattentive. 17 And We sent down out of heaven water in measure and lodged it in the earth; and We are able to take it away. 18 Then We produce for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you and whereof ye eat; 19 And created the tree that comes forth from Mount Sinai – that grows containing oil and curry for the eaters. 20 And lo! in the cattle there is verily a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and many uses have ye in them, and of them do ye eat; 21 And on them, and on ships you are carried. 22
