The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
118 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa') before Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Prosperous are the believers 1 those who are humble in their prayer; 2 who turn away from idle talk; 3 Who strive for betterment; 4 Who abstain from sex, 5 Save in regard to their spouses and those whom their right hands own: so they are not blameworthy 6 but those who seek to go beyond that are transgressors -- 7 and who preserve their trusts and their covenant 8 to their promise, 9 and who are steadfast in their prayer. 10 Heirs of Paradise, they shall abide in it forever. 11 We created the human from an essence of clay: 12 then We set him, a drop, in a receptacle secure, 13 Then fashioned We the drop a clot, then fashioned We the clot a little lump, then fashioned We the little lump bones, then clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 After that you shall surely die, 15 Then indeed you, on the Day of Resurrection, will be resurrected. 16 We made several highways one over the other above you. We are not neglectful of creation. 17 We send down water from the sky in determined measure, and store it up in the earth; and We have power to drain it away. 18 And by means of this [water] We bring forth for you gardens of date-palms and vines, wherein you have fruit abundant and whereof you eat, 19 The tree that grows on Mount Sinai yields oil and seasoning for those who eat. 20 In the cattle, too, is a lesson for you. We let you drink of that which is in their bellies, and there are many benefits in them for you, and you eat of them, 21 And on them, as well as in ships, ye ride. 22
