The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Blissful are the believers 1 those who humble themselves in their prayer, 2 And those who from everything vain turn away. 3 And those who for the sake of purification are doers. 4 And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts) 5 Save from their wives or the (slaves) that their right hands possess, for then they are not blameworthy, 6 As for those who seek beyond that, they are transgressors" 7 And those who of their trusts and covenant are keepers. 8 And those who are watchful of their acts of prayer. 9 these are the heirs 10 who shall inherit Paradise therein dwelling forever. 11 And assuredly We created man of an extract of clay. 12 which was then turned into a living germ and placed in safe depository. 13 Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators. 14 After that, at length ye will die 15 and you will be brought back to life again on the Day of Resurrection. 16 We have indeed fashioned above you seven paths. Never were We unaware of the task of creation. 17 And We send down water from the sky according to (due) measure, and We cause it to soak in the soil; and We certainly are able to drain it off (with ease). 18 Then We cause to grow thereby gardens of palm trees and grapes for you; you have in them many fruits and from them do you eat; 19 as well as a tree that issues from [the lands adjoining] Mount Sinai, yielding oil and relish for all to eat. 20 In the cattle, too, is a lesson for you. We let you drink of that which is in their bellies, and there are many benefits in them for you, and you eat of them, 21 And upon them and on ships you are carried. 22
