The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Prosperous are the believers, 1 Those who humble themselves in their prayers; 2 And those who from everything vain turn away. 3 those who pay the zakat; 4 Who abstain from sex, 5 Save from their wives or the (slaves) that their right hands possess, for then they are not blameworthy, 6 But those whose desires exceed those limits are transgressors;- 7 those who are faithful to their trusts and promises; 8 and who guard their Prayers. 9 Those are the heirs 10 Who shall inherit the Paradise; they shall abide therein. 11 And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay. 12 Thereafter We made him (the offspring of Adam) as a Nutfah (mixed drops of the male and female sexual discharge) (and lodged it) in a safe lodging (womb of the woman). 13 The living germ, then, was turned into a shapeless lump of flesh from which bones were formed. The bones, then, were covered with flesh. At this stage, We caused it to become another creature. All blessings belong to God, the best Creator. 14 After that, at length ye will die 15 Then will be raised up on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And indeed, We have created above you seven [celestial] orbits: and never are We unmindful of [any aspect of Our] creation. 17 And We sent down out of heaven water in measure and lodged it in the earth; and We are able to take it away. 18 Then We cause to grow thereby gardens of palm trees and grapes for you; you have in them many fruits and from them do you eat; 19 We have also created for you the tree that grows on Mount Sinai which produces oil and relish for those who use it. 20 And indeed in the cattle is a lesson for you; We give you to drink what is in their bellies, and there are many benefits for you in them, and in them is your food. 21 and upon them, and on the ships, you are borne. 22
