The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Certainly will the believers have succeeded: 1 those who are humble in their prayer; 2 Who shun all frivolities, 3 And those who pay the Zakat. 4 who strictly guard their private parts 5 [not giving way to their desires] with any but their spouses - that is, those whom they rightfully possess [through wedlock]: for then, behold, they are free of all blame, 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors; 7 and who are faithful to their trusts and to their pledges, 8 And those who are watchful of their acts of prayer. 9 Those are the inheritors 10 Who will inherit Paradise: they will dwell therein (for ever). 11 We created man from an essence of clay, 12 Then made him a drop of fluid in a secure shelter. 13 Then fashioned We the drop a clot, then fashioned We the clot a little lump, then fashioned We the little lump bones, then clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 And then, behold! after all this, you are destined to die; 15 and be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And indeed We have created seven paths above you; and We are not unmindful of the creation. 17 And We send down water from the cloud according to a measure, then We cause it to settle in the earth, and most surely We are able to carry it away. 18 Then We produced for you therewith gardens of palms and vines wherein are many fruits for you, and of them you eat, 19 We have also created for you the tree that grows on Mount Sinai which produces oil and relish for those who use it. 20 And most surely there is a lesson for you in the cattle: We make you to drink of what is in their bellies, and you have in them many advantages and of them you eat, 21 And on them and on the ship ye are borne. 22
