We sent Noah to his people who said, "My people, worship God for He is your only Lord. Will you then not have fear of Him?" 23 But the eminent among those who disbelieved from his people said, "This is not but a man like yourselves who wishes to take precedence over you; and if Allah had willed [to send a messenger], He would have sent down angels. We have not heard of this among our forefathers. 24 He is not but a man possessed with madness, so wait concerning him for a time." 25 Said [Noah]: "O my Sustainer! Succour me against their accusation of lying!" 26 So We inspired him (saying): "Construct the ship under Our Eyes and under Our Revelation (guidance). Then, when Our Command comes, and the oven gushes forth water, take on board of each kind two (male and female), and your family, except those thereof against whom the Word has already gone forth. And address Me not in favour of those who have done wrong. Verily, they are to be drowned. 27 “And when you and those with you have safely boarded the ship say, ‘All praise is to Allah Who has rescued us from the unjust.’” 28 And say: O my Lord! cause me to disembark a blessed alighting, and Thou art the best to cause to alight. 29 Lo! herein verily are portents, for lo! We are ever putting (mankind) to the test. 30 Then, after them, We created another generation. 31 Then We sent to them an apostle from among them (who said): "Worship God, for you have no other god but He. Will you not take heed and fear God?" 32
