O YOU APOSTLES! Partake of the good things of life, and do righteous deeds: verily, I have full knowledge of all that you do. 51 And surely this your religion is one religion and I am your Lord, therefore be careful (of your duty) to Me. 52 But they (who claim to follow you) have torn their unity wide asunder, piece by piece, each group delighting in [but] what they themselves possess [by way of tenets]. 53 Leave them in their perplexity for a time. 54 Deem they that in the wealth and sons wherewith We enlarge them. 55 We provide them with the means of competing with each other in virtuous deeds, but they do not realize this. 56 Those who tremble in fear of their Lord, 57 who have full faith in the Signs of their Lord; 58 and who do not ascribe divinity to aught but their Sustainer, 59 And they who give what they give while their hearts are fearful because they will be returning to their Lord - 60 it is these who hasten to do good works and vie in so doing with one another. 61 We charge not any soul save to its capacity, and with Us is a Book speaking truth, and they shall not be wronged. 62 But their hearts are in ignorance of this (Koran); and they have deeds besides that which they are doing. 63 Until when We overtake those who lead easy lives among them with punishment, lo! they cry for succor. 64 Invoke not loudly this day! Certainly, you shall not be helped by Us. 65 Time and again were My messages conveyed unto you, but [every time] you would turn about on your heels 66 behaving arrogantly, and making fun, and talking nonsense (about the Book in your nightly chats)." 67 Why did they not think over the message? Or has something come to them which had not come to their fathers? 68 Or is it that they did not recognize their Messenger (Muhammad SAW) so they deny him? 69 Or say they: There is a madness in him? Nay, but he bringeth them the Truth; and most of them are haters of the Truth. 70 And if the truth had been in accordance with their desires, verily, the heavens and the earth, and whosoever is therein would have been corrupted! Nay, We have brought them their reminder, but they turn away from their reminder. 71 Or dost thou ask them for tribute? Yet the tribute of thy Lord is better, and He is the best of providers. 72 Assuredly thou art calling them to a straight path; 73 but those who disbelieve the life hereafter deviate from the right path. 74 ۞ And though We have mercy on them We may remove whatsoever of hurt is with them, surely they would persist in their exorbitance, wandering perplexed. 75 We had seized them with the punishment, but they did not bow before their Lord nor turned to Him in humility, 76 until We open before them a gate of [truly] severe suffering [in the life to come]: and then, lo! they will be broken in spirit. 77
