1/2 Hizb 35
< random >
O ye messengers! Eat of the good things, and do right. Lo! I am Aware of what ye do. 51 Your religion is one and I am your Lord. Have fear of Me". 52 But then they divided up their order into different creeds, each section rejoicing in what it had come to have. 53 So leave them in their error for a time. 54 Do they think that by all the wealth and offspring with which We provide them 55 We [but want to] make them vie with one another in doing [what they consider] good works? Nay, but they do not perceive [their error]! 56 Lo! those who go in awe for fear of their Lord. 57 And those who believe in the signs of their Lord 58 who associate none with their Lord in His Divinity, 59 And those who give what they give (in alms) while their hearts are full of fear that to their Lord they must return, 60 it is they who vie with one another in doing good works, and it is they who outrun [all others] in attaining to them! 61 And [withal.] We do not burden any human being with more than he is well able to bear: for with Us is a record that speaks the truth [about what men do and can do]; and none shall be wronged. 62 Nay, but their hearts are covered (blind) from understanding this (the Quran), and they have other (evil) deeds, besides, which they are doing. 63 So that when We seize the affluent among them with affliction, they will begin to implore for help. 64 (It will be said): "Groan not in supplication this day: for ye shall certainly not be helped by Us. 65 My signs were recited to you, but upon your heels you withdrew, 66 In scorn thereof. Nightly did ye rave together. 67 Was it that you did not give any thought to it (the Quran)? Was it different from what was revealed to your fathers? 68 Or is it that they have not recognized their Apostle, so that they deny him? 69 Do they say he is possessed? Rather he has brought them the truth, but most of them are averse to the truth. 70 But if the truth were in accord with their own likes and dislikes, the heavens and the earth would surely have fallen into ruin, and all that lives in them [would long ago have perished]! Nay, [in this divine writ] We have conveyed unto them all that they ought to bear in mind: and from this their reminder they [heedlessly] turn away! 71 Do you (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him) ask any fee from them? So the reward of your Lord is the best; and He is the Best Provider of Sustenance. 72 And indeed, you invite them to a straight path. 73 And most surely those who do not believe in the hereafter are deviating from the way. 74 ۞ And even if We gave them mercy and removed what was upon them of affliction, they would persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 And indeed We seized them with punishment, but they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor did they invoke (Allah) with submission to Him. 76 To the extent that when We opened the gate of a severe punishment for them, they thereupon lie despairingly in it. 77
