It is He who produced for you hearing, and eyes, and hearts; little thanks you show. 78 It is God who has settled you on the earth and before Him you will all be assembled. 79 He is the One who gives life and causes death and He controls the alternation of night and day. Will you not then understand? 80 Nay, they say the like of what the ancients said: 81 They say: "What! when we die and become dust and bones, could we really be raised up again? 82 Assuredly this we have been promised - we and our fathers - aforetime: naught is this but the fables of the ancients. 83 Say: "To whom belong the earth and all beings therein? (say) if ye know!" 84 They will say: Allah's. Say: Will you not then mind? 85 Say: Who is Lord of the seven heavens, and Lord of the Tremendous Throne? 86 They will say: (This is) Allah's. Say: Will you not then guard (against evil)? 87 Say "In Whose Hand is the sovereignty of everything (i.e. treasures of each and everything)? And He protects (all), while against Whom there is no protector, (i.e. if Allah saves anyone none can punish or harm him, and if Allah punishes or harms anyone none can save him), if you know." [Tafsir Al-Qurtubi, Vol. 12, Page 145] 88 They will say: Unto Allah (all that belongeth). Say: How then are ye bewitched? 89 Nay! We have brought to them the truth, and most surely they are liars. 90 Never did God take unto Himself any offspring, nor has there ever been any deity side by side with Him: [for, had there been any,] lo! each deity would surely have stood apart [from the others] in whatever it had created, and they would surely have [tried to] overcome one another! Limitless in His glory is God, [far] above anything that men may devise by way of definition, 91 knowing all that is beyond the reach of a created being's perception as well as all that can be witnessed by a creature's senses or mind and hence, sublimely exalted is He above anything to which they may ascribe a share in His divinity! 92
