Say: "O my Lord! if Thou wilt show me (in my lifetime) that which they are warned against,- 93 My Lord! then set me not among the wrongdoing folk. 94 And indeed, We are able to show you what We have promised them. 95 Repel evil with what is best, We are well aware of the things they say, 96 And say, "My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the incitements of the devils, 97 "And I seek refuge with You, My Lord! lest they may attend (or come near) me." 98 (They shall persist in their deeds) until when death comes to anyone of them he will say: "My Lord, send me back to the world 99 That I might do righteousness in that which I left behind." No! It is only a word he is saying; and behind them is a barrier until the Day they are resurrected. 100 There will be no kindred relations nor any opportunity to ask about others or seek their assistance after the trumpet has sounded. 101 And they whose weight [of righteousness] is heavy in the balance - it is they, they who will have attained to a happy state; 102 And the ones whose scales prove light – it is they who put their lives into ruin, remaining in hell forever. 103 Their faces will be scorched by flames, and they will grin and scowl within it. 104 Have not My revelations been rehearsed unto you, and them ye have been belying? 105 'Lord' they will reply, 'adversity prevailed over us and we were erring. 106 O our Sustainer! Cause us to come out of this [suffering] - and then, if ever We revert [to sinning,] may we truly be [deemed] evildoers!" 107 God will say, "Stay there and do not speak to Me. 108 There was a group of my servants among you who always prayed: Lord, forgive us and grant us mercy; You are the best of those who show mercy. 109 But ye chose them for a laughing-stock until they caused you to forget remembrance of Me, while ye laughed at them. 110 On this day I have given them their reward for their exercising patience and it is they who have triumphed." 111 He will say: "What number of years did ye stay on earth?" 112 They will say: "A day or less than a day. Ask the enumerators of numbers." 113 He will say: You did tarry but a little-- had you but known (it): 114 So do you think that We have created you needlessly, and that you do not have to return to Us? 115 So exalted be Allah, the True King! there is no god but he, Lord of the Throne honoured. 116 He, who invokes another deity along with God, a deity of whose divinity he has no proof, will be brought to account by his Lord. Certainly, those who deny the truth shall never prosper. 117 Say, "Lord, forgive us and have mercy. You are the best of those who show mercy." 118
