And assuredly We vouchsafed unto Musa the Book and We placed with him his brother Harun as a minister. 35 Then We said, "Go together to the people who have denied Our signs." We utterly destroyed them! 36 And the people of Nuh, when they rejected the apostles, We drowned them, and made them a sign for men, and We have prepared a painful punishment for the unjust; 37 And Ad and Samood and the dwellers of the Rass and many generations between them. 38 and unto each of them did We proffer lessons and each of them did We destroy with utter destruction. 39 And indeed they have passed by the town [of Prophet Lout (Lot)] on which was rained the evil rain. Did they (disbelievers) not then see it (with their own eyes)? Nay! But they used not to expect for any resurrection. 40 (Muhammad), when they see you, they will only mock you and say, "Has God really sent him as a Messengers? 41 Well nigh he had led us astray from our gods if we had not persevered towards them. Presently they shall know, when they behold the torment, who is more astray in respect of path. 42 How can you be the guardian of those who have chosen their own desires as their Lord? 43 Or do you think that most of them hear or reason? They are not except like livestock. Rather, they are [even] more astray in [their] way. 44
