We verily gave Moses the Scripture and placed with him his brother Aaron as henchman. 35 Then We told them: "Go to the people who have rejected Our signs." Then We annihilated them completely. 36 We drowned the people of Noah also when they rejected their messengers and We made them an example to all mankind. We have prepared a painful punishment for the wrongdoers, 37 to 'Ad, and Thamud, and the people of al-Rass, and as We did for the many a generation between them. 38 And We illustrated examples to each one of them; and ruining them, annihilated them all. 39 And indeed they have visited the township upon which had rained a harmful rain; so were they not seeing it? In fact, they never expected to be raised again. 40 When they see you they take you only in jest: "Is this the one whom God has sent as messenger? 41 "He would have nearly misled us from our aliha (gods), had it not been that we were patient and constant in their worship!" And they will know when they see the torment, who it is that is most astray from the (Right) Path! 42 Have you seen him who takes his low desires for his god? Will you then be a protector over him? 43 Do you think that most of them can hear or understand? They are like cattle, no, they are further astray from the Path. 44
