The Poets (Alshu'araa')

227 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah) before The Ant (Al-Naml)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

۞ Ta-Sin-Mim. 1 These are verses of the Book that makes (things) clear. 2 Wouldst thou, perhaps, torment thyself to death [with grief] because they [who live around thee] refuse to believe [in it]? 3 If (such) were Our Will, We could send down to them from the sky a Sign, to which they would bend their necks in humility. 4 And no revelation comes to them anew from the Most Merciful except that they turn away from it. 5 They have called (our revelation) lies. They will soon learn the consequences of what they mocked. 6 Do they not look at the earth,- how many noble things of all kinds We have produced therein? 7 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 8 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 9
