And (remember) when your Lord called Musa (Moses) (saying): "Go to the people who are Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doing), 10 The folk of Pharaoh. Will they not ward off (evil)? 11 He said: "My Lord! Verily, I fear that they will belie me, 12 My heart is constrained, my tongue falters, so delegate Aaron; 13 They hold a sin against me, and I fear that they will kill me' 14 He said: by no means. So go ye twain with Our signs; verily We shall be with you listening. 15 Then come to Firon and say: Surely we are the apostles of the Lord of the worlds: 16 so send forth with us the Children of Israel." 17 [But when Moses had delivered his message, Pharaoh] said: "Did we not bring thee up among us when thou wert a child? And didst thou not spend among us years of thy [later] life? 18 And you commited what you did, and you are ungrateful!" 19 Moses said, "I did do it and I made a mistake. 20 so I fled from you, fearing you. But my Lord gave me Judgment and made me one of the Envoys. 21 And this is the favour with which you taunt me -- that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" 22 Fir'awn said: and what is the Lord of the worlds? 23 (Moses) said: "The Lord and Cherisher of the heavens and the earth, and all between,- if ye want to be quite sure." 24 Said Firaun to those around him, “Are you not listening with attention?” 25 He said: Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers. 26 Pharaoh said, "This messenger who has been sent to you is surely possessed!" 27 (Moses) said: "The Lord of the East and the Lord of the West and all that lies between them, if you have sense." 28 Said he, 'If thou takest a god other than me, I shall surely make thee one of the imprisoned.' 29 Musa (Moses) said: "Even if I bring you something manifest (and convincing)?" 30 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Bring it forth then, if you are of the truthful!" 31 So he cast down his rod, and lo! it was an obvious serpent, 32 And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers. 33
