Will they not fear and take heed?" 11 Moses replied, "My Lord, I fear they will reject me, 12 And that my breast will tighten and my tongue will not be fluent, so send for Aaron. 13 And they have a crime against me, so I fear that they shall slay me. 14 God said, "Indeed not; go both of you with Our signs, We shall be with you, listening [to your call]. 15 Go, then, to Pharaoh and say to him: 'The Lord of the Universe has sent us 16 Then send with us the children of Israel. 17 Pharaoh said to Moses, "Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you spent several years of your life with us. 18 And thou didst that thy deed which thou didst; and thou art of the ingrates. 19 Said he, 'Indeed I did it then, being one of those that stray; 20 Then I fled for fear of you. Then my Lord bestowed wisdom and authority on me and made me one of the Messengers. 21 And is it a favor of which you remind me that you have enslaved the children of Israel? 22 Firon said: And what is the Lord of the worlds? 23 Moses answered: "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them, if you were only to believe." 24 'Do you not hear' said he (Pharaoh) to those around him. 25 Moses continued, "He is the Lord and the Lord of your forefathers." 26 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Verily, your Messenger who has been sent to you is a madman!" 27 'He is the Lord of the East and the West' said he (Moses), 'and all that is between them, if you could understand' 28 (The Pharaoh) said: "If you took another god apart from me I will have you incarcerated." 29 Musa (Moses) said: "Even if I bring you something manifest (and convincing)?" 30 He (Pharaoh) replied: 'Show us your sign, if you are of the truthful' 31 Then he flung down his staff and it became a serpent manifest, 32 Then he uncovered his hand and it was sheer white to the onlookers. 33
