And when your Lord called to Moses, saying: 'Go to the harmdoing nation, 10 the people of Pharaoh: do they have no fear?" 11 He said, 'My Lord, I fear they will cry me lies, 12 and then my breast will be straitened and my tongue will not be free: send, then, [this Thy command] to Aaron. 13 “And they have an accusation against me, so I fear that they may kill me.” 14 Allah said: "Nay! Go you both with Our Signs. Verily! We shall be with you, listening. 15 And go, both of you, unto Pharaoh and say, 'Behold, we bear a message from the Sustainer of all the worlds: 16 let the Children of Israel go with us!'" 17 (The Pharaoh) said: "Did we not bring you up as a child? And you lived a number of years of your life with us. 18 "And thou didst a deed of thine which (thou knowest) thou didst, and thou art an ungrateful (wretch)!" 19 (Moses) replied: "I did do that and I was in the wrong, 20 "So I fled from you (all) when I feared you; but my Lord has (since) invested me with judgment (and wisdom) and appointed me as one of the messengers. 21 "And this is the favour with which thou dost reproach me,- that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel!" 22 Pharaoh said: And what is the Lord of the Worlds? 23 He said, 'The Lord of the heavens and earth, and what between them is, if you have faith.' 24 (Pharaoh) said to those around: "Did ye not listen (to what he says)?" 25 He said, 'Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients' 26 Said he, 'Surely your Messenger who was sent to you is possessed!' 27 He said: The Lord of the east and the west and what is between them, if you understand. 28 Pharaoh said: "If you take any god other than me, I will certainly make you one of those (who are rotting) in prison." 29 He said: even though I bring unto thee something manifest? 30 [Pharaoh] answered: "Produce it, then, if thou art a man of truth!" 31 Moses threw his staff and suddenly it became a serpent. 32 And he drew forth his hand, thereupon it shone bright before the beholders. 33
