And [mention] when your Lord called Moses, [saying], "Go to the wrongdoing people - 10 the nation of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Me' 11 : He said: "O Lord, I fear that they will deny me. 12 And that my breast will tighten and my tongue will not be fluent, so send for Aaron. 13 "And they have a charge of crime against me, and I fear they will kill me." 14 (It was) said: "By no means. Go with My signs, both of you. I am verily with you and I hear. 15 And come together unto Pharaoh and say: Lo! we bear a message of the Lord of the Worlds, 16 ‘That you let the Descendants of Israel go with us.’” 17 [Pharaoh] said, "Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you remained among us for years of your life? 18 "And thou didst a deed of thine which (thou knowest) thou didst, and thou art an ungrateful (wretch)!" 19 (Moses) replied: "I did do that and I was in the wrong, 20 So I fled from you when I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and prophethood and appointed me [as one] of the messengers. 21 And this is the favor with which you oblige me: You have made the Israelites your slaves. 22 Firon said: And what is the Lord of the worlds? 23 Moses answered: "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them, if you were only to believe." 24 'Do you not hear' said he (Pharaoh) to those around him. 25 He said: your Lord and the Lord of your ancient fathers. 26 (The Pharaoh) said (to his nobles): "Your apostle who has been sent to you, is certainly mad." 27 Moses continued: "(He is) the Lord of the east and the west, and all between them. If you only had any understanding!" 28 Said he: If you will take a god besides me, I will most certainly make you one of the imprisoned. 29 Said he: "Even if I should bring about before thee something that clearly shows the truth?" 30 (The Pharaoh) said: "Then bring it, if you speak the truth." 31 So (Moses) cast his staff, and lo, it turned into a living serpent. 32 And he drew out his hand, and it appeared [shining] white to the beholders. 33
