And (remember) when your Lord said to Moosa, “Go to the unjust people.” 10 "The people of the Pharaoh: will they not fear Allah?" 11 He said: "My Lord! Verily, I fear that they will belie me, 12 My heart is constrained, my tongue falters, so delegate Aaron; 13 And they have a crime against me, so I fear that they will kill me. 14 Allah said: "Nay! Go you both with Our Signs. Verily! We shall be with you, listening. 15 And come together unto Pharaoh and say: Lo! we bear a message of the Lord of the Worlds, 16 Then send with us the children of Israel. 17 [Pharaoh] said, "Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you remained among us for years of your life? 18 "And you did your deed, which you did (i.e. the crime of killing a man). And you are one of the ingrates." 19 Moses said, "I did do it and I made a mistake. 20 So I ran away from you out of fear. But my Lord has given me wisdom, and made me an apostle. 21 And this is the past favour wherewith thou reproachest me: that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel. 22 Firon said: And what is the Lord of the worlds? 23 (Moses) said: Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if ye had but sure belief. 24 Said Firaun to those around him, “Are you not listening with attention?” 25 (Moses continued): "Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers before you." 26 [Pharaoh] said, "Indeed, your 'messenger' who has been sent to you is mad." 27 [But Moses] went on: "[He of whom I speak is] the Sustainer of the east and the west and of all that is between the two - as you would know]" if you would but use your reason!" 28 Pharaoh said: "If you take any god other than me, I will certainly make you one of those (who are rotting) in prison." 29 Musa (Moses) said: "Even if I bring you something manifest (and convincing)?" 30 Pharaoh said: "Then bring it if you are truthful at all." 31 Then he flung down his staff and it became a serpent manifest, 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo, it looked white to the beholders. 33
