And when your Lord called to Moses, saying: 'Go to the harmdoing nation, 10 The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear and take heed?" 11 He said, 'My Lord, I fear they will cry me lies, 12 “I feel hesitant, and my tongue does not speak fast, therefore make Haroon also a Noble Messenger.” 13 They hold a sin against me, and I fear that they will kill me' 14 He said: Nay, verily. So go ye twain with Our tokens. Lo! We shall be with you, Hearing. 15 Go to Pharaoh and say, 'We are the messengers of the Lord of the worlds, 16 Send the Israelites with us". 17 [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said [to Musa (Moses)]: "Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you did dwell many years of your life with us. 18 And thou didst that thy deed which thou didst; and thou art of the ingrates. 19 Moses said: "I did it then, when I was in error. 20 "So I fled from you (all) when I feared you; but my Lord has (since) invested me with judgment (and wisdom) and appointed me as one of the messengers. 21 "And this is the past favour with which you reproach me, that you have enslaved the Children of Israel." 22 Pharaoh said, 'And what is the Lord of all Being?' 23 Moses answered: "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them, if you were only to believe." 24 Said he to those about him, 'Do you not hear?' 25 Moses continued, "He is the Lord and the Lord of your forefathers." 26 The Pharaoh said, "The Messenger who has been sent to you is certainly insane". 27 'He is the Lord of the East and the West' said he (Moses), 'and all that is between them, if you could understand' 28 Said Firaun, “If you ascribe any one else as a God other than me, I will surely imprison you.” 29 'What, even if I brought you something clear' said he (Moses). 30 Said he, 'Bring it then, if thou art of the truthful.' 31 (No sooner had he said this than) Moses threw down his rod and behold, it was a veritable serpent, 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo! it was white unto the beholders. 33
