And when your Lord called to Moses, saying: 'Go to the harmdoing nation, 10 The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Allah?" 11 He answered: "O my Sustainer! Behold, I fear that they will give me the lie, 12 My heart is constrained, my tongue falters, so delegate Aaron; 13 Moreover, they keep a grave charge [pending] against me, and I fear that they will slay me." 14 He said: by no means. So go ye twain with Our signs; verily We shall be with you listening. 15 Go, then, to Pharaoh and say to him: 'The Lord of the Universe has sent us 16 Send forth with us the Children of Israel' 17 Fir'awn said: brought we not thee up amongst us as a child? And thou tarriedst amongst us for many years of thy life? 18 Yet you were ungrateful and have done the deed you did' 19 He (Moses) replied: 'Indeed, I did that when I was among those who stray. 20 So I ran away from you out of fear. But my Lord has given me wisdom, and made me an apostle. 21 Now this is the favour that you tauntingly remind me of: that you enslaved the Children of Israel!" 22 Fir'awn said: and what is the Lord of the worlds? 23 Moses said, "Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if only you would be convinced." 24 (The Pharaoh) said to those around him: "Do you hear?" 25 Moses said: "(He is) Your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers of yore." 26 Said Firaun, “This (Noble) Messenger of yours, who has been sent towards you, has no intelligence!” 27 Moses continued, "He is the Lord of the East and West and all that is between them, if only you would think". 28 Fir'awn said: if thou wilt take a god other than me, I shall surely place thee among the prisoners. 29 He said: Even though I show thee something plain? 30 The Pharaoh replied, "Bring it, if you are telling the truth." 31 So (Moses) cast his staff, and lo, it turned into a living serpent. 32 And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to all beholders! 33
