When your Lord called upon Moses: "Go to the wicked people, 10 "The people of the Pharaoh: will they not fear Allah?" 11 He said: "My Lord! Verily, I fear that they will belie me, 12 I feel nervous and my tongue is not fluent, so send Aaron with me. 13 They hold a sin against me, and I fear that they will kill me' 14 Said He, 'No indeed; but go, both of you, with Our signs, and We assuredly shall be with you, listening. 15 And go, both of you, unto Pharaoh and say, 'Behold, we bear a message from the Sustainer of all the worlds: 16 so send forth with us the Children of Israel." 17 The Pharaoh said, "Did we not bring you up in our home as an infant and did you not live with us for many years 18 "And you did your deed, which you did (i.e. the crime of killing a man). And you are one of the ingrates." 19 Musa (Moses) said: "I did it then, when I was an ignorant (as regards my Lord and His Message). 20 Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord bestowed on me wisdom and made me one of the sent ones. 21 And is it a favor of which you remind me that you have enslaved the children of Israel? 22 Pharaoh said: 'And what is the Lord of the Worlds' 23 [Moses] said, "The Lord of the heavens and earth and that between them, if you should be convinced." 24 (Pharaoh) said unto those around him: Hear ye not? 25 [And Moses] continued: "[He is] your Sustainer, [too,] as well as the Sustainer of your forefathers of old!" 26 [Pharaoh] said, "Indeed, your 'messenger' who has been sent to you is mad." 27 He said: The Lord of the east and the west and what is between them, if you understand. 28 (The Pharaoh) said: "If you took another god apart from me I will have you incarcerated." 29 He said, 'What, even though I brought thee something so manifest?' 30 Pharaoh said, "Show it then, if you are telling the truth!" 31 He cast down his staff and thereupon it was a clear serpent. 32 And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers. 33
