And when thy Lord called Moses, saying: Go unto the wrongdoing folk, 10 The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear and take heed?" 11 He replied, "Lord, I am afraid that they will call me a liar. 12 And I shall be embarrassed, and my tongue will not speak plainly, therefor send for Aaron (to help me). 13 besides, they accuse me of a crime, and I fear that they may put me to death." 14 (It was) said: "By no means. Go with My signs, both of you. I am verily with you and I hear. 15 So go ye twain unto Fir'awn and say: verily we are the apostles of the Lord of the Worlds, 16 so send forth with us the Children of Israel." 17 (Pharaoh) said: "Did we not cherish thee as a child among us, and didst thou not stay in our midst many years of thy life? 18 And thou didst that thy deed which thou didst; and thou art of the ingrates. 19 He said: I did it then while I was of those unable to see the right course; 20 “I therefore went away from you as I feared you – so my Lord commanded me and appointed me as one of the Noble Messengers.” 21 And that favour wherewith thou didst oblige me was that thou hadst enslaved the Children of Isra'il? 22 The Pharaoh asked: "And what is the Lord of all the worlds?" 23 Moses answered: "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them, if you were only to believe." 24 (Pharaoh) said to those around: "Did ye not listen (to what he says)?" 25 Moses continued, "He is the Lord and the Lord of your forefathers." 26 Said Firaun, “This (Noble) Messenger of yours, who has been sent towards you, has no intelligence!” 27 He said: Lord of the east and the west and whatsoever is in-between, if ye understand. 28 Said he, 'If thou takest a god other than me, I shall surely make thee one of the imprisoned.' 29 Said he: "Even if I should bring about before thee something that clearly shows the truth?" 30 (Pharaoh) said: Produce it then, if thou art of the truthful! 31 So Moses threw down his staff and suddenly it appeared as a serpent, plainly visible. 32 Then he uncovered his hand and it was sheer white to the onlookers. 33
