And (remember) when your Lord called Musa (Moses) (saying): "Go to the people who are Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doing), 10 the people of Pharaoh: do they have no fear?" 11 He said, "My Lord, indeed I fear that they will deny me 12 and "my breast is straitened and my tongue is not fluent; so send Aaron as well; 13 Moreover, they keep a grave charge [pending] against me, and I fear that they will slay me." 14 Said He: "Not so, indeed! Go forth, then, both of you, with Our messages: verily, We shall be with you, listening [to your call]! 15 And go, both of you, unto Pharaoh and say, 'Behold, we bear a message from the Sustainer of all the worlds: 16 ‘That you let the Descendants of Israel go with us.’” 17 (Firon) said: Did we not bring you up as a child among us, and you tarried among us for (many) years of your life? 18 And yet thou didst commit that [heinous] deed of thine, and [hast thus shown that] thou art one of the ingrate!" 19 Said he, 'Indeed I did it then, being one of those that stray; 20 Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord bestowed on me wisdom and made me one of the sent ones. 21 Now this is the favour that you tauntingly remind me of: that you enslaved the Children of Israel!" 22 Pharaoh said, "What is this: Lord of the Universe?" 23 Moses said, "Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if only you would be convinced." 24 Pharaoh said to those around him, "Did you hear?" 25 Moses said: "(He is) Your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers of yore." 26 Pharaoh said, "This messenger who has been sent to you is surely possessed!" 27 (Moses) said: "The Lord of the East and the Lord of the West and all that lies between them, if you have sense." 28 Pharaoh said, "If you put forward any god other than me, I will surely put you in prison". 29 [Moses] said, "Even if I brought you proof manifest?" 30 Said he: Bring it then, if you are of the truthful ones. 31 Thereupon [Moses] threw down his staff - and lo! it was a serpent, plainly visible; 32 And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers. 33
