۞ AND [there came a time when] We inspired Moses thus: "Go forth with My servants by night: for, behold, you will be pursued!" 52 Then Pharaoh sent heralds to (all) the Cities, 53 'These' they said, 'are a small band, 54 And verily they have enraged us. 55 And lo! we are a ready host. 56 Then We drave them forth from gardens and springs. 57 their treasures and a noble station. 58 and We made the Children of Israel inheritors of these bounties. 59 So they pursued them at sunrise. 60 And when the two hosts came in view of each other, Moses' companions said: 'We have been reached' 61 He said: By no means; surely my Lord is with me: He will show me a way out. 62 Then We inspired Moses, saying: Smite the sea with thy staff. And it parted, and each part was as a mountain vast. 63 Then We brought the two parties closer. 64 and We saved Moses and all who were with him, 65 then, We drowned the others. 66 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 67 And lo, thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 68
