And convey unto them the story of Abraham 69 when he asked his father and others, "What do you worship?" 70 They replied, "We worship idols and shall continue to worship them". 71 He said, 'Do they hear you when you call, 72 or do they cause you any benefit or harm?" 73 They said: "No. But we found our fathers doing so." 74 He said: have ye observed that which ye worship 75 You and your ancient sires. 76 They are an enemy to me, except the Lord of all Being 77 "Who created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 and He gives me to eat and drink, 79 And when I am sick, then He restores me to health 80 And who will cause me to die and then bring me to life 81 "And who, I hope, will forgive me my faults on the day of Judgment. 82 Lord, grant me authority. Join me to the righteous ones. 83 and grant me the power to convey the truth unto those who will come after me, 84 And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Delight, 85 and forgive my father; for he is one of the misguided; 86 And abase me not on the day when they are raised, 87 The day when neither wealth nor children will be of any avail 88 [and when] only he [will be happy] who comes before God with a heart free of evil!" 89 And Paradise will be brought close for the pious. 90 and hell will be left open for the rebellious ones 91 And it will be said to them, "Where are those you used to worship 92 beside Allah? Can they be of any help to you, or even be of any help to themselves?" 93 So they and all the astray were flung into hell. 94 And the hosts of the Shaitan, all. 95 There they will quarrel with one another and the erring ones will say (to their deities): 96 "'By Allah, we were truly in an error manifest, 97 When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 It was but the guilty who misled us. 99 So we have no intercessors, 100 Nor any sincere friend. 101 But if we could but once return, we would be of the believers. 102 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 Surely, Your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104
