Tell them the story of Abraham, 69 When he said to his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They said, “We worship idols, and we keep squatting in seclusion before them.” 71 He said: "Do they hear you, when you call (on them)? 72 or benefit you or do you harm?" 73 They said: nay; but we found our fathers doing in this wise. 74 He said, “Do you see these – (the idols) whom you worship?” 75 Ye and your forefathers! 76 Lo! they are (all) an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the Worlds, 77 Who hath created me, and He guideth me. 78 He Who feedeth me and giveth me to drink. 79 "And when I am ill, it is He who cures me. 80 And He Who will cause me to die, then give me life; 81 And Who, I ardently hope, will forgive me my sin on the Day of Judgment. 82 My Lord, bestow wisdom upon me; unite me with the righteous; 83 And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations. 84 And make me one of the inheritors of the Paradise of Delight; 85 Forgive me and my father: He was surely among those who went astray. 86 And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected - 87 on the Day of Judgment when neither wealth nor children will be of any benefit 88 “Except he who presented himself before Allah, with a sound* heart.” (Intact or unblemished.) 89 Paradise will be brought near those who take heed for themselves and follow the straight path; 90 And the Fierce Fire shall be made apparent unto the seduced ones. 91 And it will be said to them: "Where are those (the false gods whom you used to set up as rivals with Allah) that you used to worship 92 Beside Allah? Can they succour you or succour themselves? 93 Then they shall be hurled therein, they and the seduced ones. 94 And the hosts of the Shaitan, all. 95 And they will say, and they will be quarrelling in it: 96 By Allah, we were truly in a manifest error, 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Universe. 98 And none led us astray except the culprits. 99 so now we have no intercessors, 100 no caring friend. 101 If only we could return and be among the believers!" 102 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 103 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 104
