And rehearse to them (something of) Abraham's story. 69 He said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship' 70 They said: we worship idols, and we are unto them ever devoted 71 He said: Do they hear you when you call? 72 or do they profit you, or harm?' 73 They replied, "But we found our fathers doing the same." 74 Said [Abraham]: "Have you, then, ever considered what it is that you have been worshipping 75 you and those ancient forebears of yours? 76 They are enemies to me except the Lord of all the Worlds 77 who has created me and is the One who guides me, 78 And He Who gives me to eat and gives me to drink: 79 and Who, when I am ill, heals me; 80 He will cause me to die and will bring me back to life. 81 It is He whom I expect to forgive my sins on the Day of Judgment. 82 My Lord, give me judgment, and join me with the righteous. 83 And ordain for me a goodly mention among posterity 84 And put me among the inheritors of Paradise. 85 And forgive my father, verily he is of the erring; 86 “And do not disgrace me on the day when everyone will be raised.” 87 the Day on which neither wealth will be of any use, nor children, 88 Save him who bringeth unto Allah a whole heart. 89 (On that Day) the Garden will be brought near to the God-fearing, 90 And the hell shall be made manifest to the erring ones, 91 And it will be said to them, "Where are those you used to worship 92 beside Allah? Can they be of any help to you, or even be of any help to themselves?" 93 Then the idols and those who strayed will be hurled into the Fire headlong, one upon another, 94 and the hosts of Iblis, all together. 95 They will dispute between themselves therein, and will say, 96 "By God, we were plainly in error 97 when we assigned to you a position equal to that of the Lord of the Universe. 98 It was the evildoers who led us astray, 99 Now we have no intercessors 100 nor do we have a truly sincere friend. 101 Were there for us a return, we would be of the believers. 102 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 103 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
