And recite to them the news of Ibrahim. 69 When he said to his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They said, “We worship idols, and we keep squatting in seclusion before them.” 71 He asked: "Do they hear you when you call them 72 "Or do they benefit you or do they harm (you)?" 73 They said, "No, but our fathers worshipped them." 74 He said: have ye observed that which ye worship 75 You and your ancient forefathers? 76 “They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation.” 77 who created me. It is He who guides me; 78 and Himself gives me to eat and drink, 79 and when I fall ill, is the One who restores me to health, 80 Who will make me die, then give me life again, 81 And Who, I ardently hope, will forgive me my sin on the Day of Judgment. 82 My Lord! Bestow Hukman (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations. 84 And make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Delight. 85 "And forgive my father - for, verily, he is among those who have gone astray 86 Degrade me not upon the day when they are raised up, 87 The Day whereon will profit neither substance nor sons. 88 but only he that brings to Allah a sound heart will (attain to success)." 89 (On that Day) the Garden will be brought near to the God-fearing, 90 "And to those straying in Evil, the Fire will be placed in full view; 91 And it will be said to them: "Where are those (the false gods whom you used to set up as rivals with Allah) that you used to worship 92 other than Allah? Do they help you or even help themselves' 93 The idol worshippers, the idols, the rebellious ones, 94 Together with the hordes of Iblis. 95 And they, while contending therein, shall say: 96 By Allah, of a truth we were in error manifest 97 When We held you (false gods) as equals (in worship) with the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 98 And no one misguided us except the criminals. 99 "'Now, then, we have none to intercede (for us), 100 nor any loving friend. 101 If only we could return and be among the believers!" 102 Verily in this is a Sign but most of them do not believe. 103 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 104
