And recite to them the story of Ibrahim. 69 When he said unto his father and his folk: What worship ye? 70 They replied: 'We worship idols and continue cleaving to them' 71 He said, "Do they hear you when you supplicate? 72 Or do they profit you or cause you harm? 73 They replied, "But we found our fathers doing the same." 74 (Abraham) said, "Do you know that what you worship 75 Ye and your forefathers! 76 they are all my enemies, not so the Lord of the Universe, 77 “The One Who created me, so He will guide me.” 78 "And it is He Who feeds me and gives me to drink. 79 "And when I am ill, it is He Who cures me; 80 Who will cause me to die and then will again restore me to life; 81 And He Who, I long, shall forgive me my faults, on the Day of Requital. 82 My Lord, give me judgment, and join me with the righteous. 83 And appoint for me an honourable mention among the posterity 84 Make me inherit the bountiful Paradise. 85 and forgive my father, for he is one of those astray. 86 And abase me not on the day when they are raised, 87 The Day whereon will profit neither substance nor sons. 88 except what is done in obedience to God with a submissive heart. 89 (On that Day) the Garden will be brought near to the God-fearing, 90 and Hell shall be revealed to the misguided, 91 And it will be said unto them: Where is (all) that ye used to worship 92 beside Allah? Can they be of any help to you, or even be of any help to themselves?" 93 So they will be overturned into Hellfire, they and the deviators 94 and Satan's legions, all together. 95 "Quarrelling therein with each other, 96 "By Allah, we were indeed in manifest error 97 When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 “And none misled us but the guilty.” 99 Now we have none to intercede for us, 100 “Nor a caring friend.” 101 Oh, that we had another turn (on earth), that we might be of the believers! 102 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers! 103 And lo, thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
