And recite to them the news of Abraham, 69 When he asked his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They said: we worship idols, and we are unto them ever devoted 71 (Abraham) asked: "Do they hear when you call them? 72 'Can they benefit you or harm you' 73 They replied, "But we found our fathers doing the same." 74 He said: 'Have you considered what you worship, 75 You and your ancient forefathers? 76 Yet they are my enemies except the Lord of all the worlds 77 Who hath created me, and He guideth me. 78 and He gives me to eat and drink, 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me, 80 and who will cause me to die and then will bring me back to life 81 “And the One Who, upon Whom I pin my hopes, will forgive me my mistakes on the Day of Judgement.” 82 (And then Abraham prayed): "My Lord, endow me with knowledge and wisdom and join me with the righteous, 83 and grant me the power to convey the truth unto those who will come after me, 84 Make me inherit the bountiful Paradise. 85 and forgive my father, for he is one of those astray. 86 and do not put me to shame on the Day when all shall be raised from the dead: 87 The day on which property will not avail, nor sons 88 except him who comes before Allah with a pure heart; 89 And Paradise will be brought close for the pious. 90 and Hell shall be revealed to the misguided, 91 They will be asked: "Where are those you worshipped 92 Other than Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?" 93 Then the idols and those who strayed will be hurled into the Fire headlong, one upon another, 94 And the hosts of Iblis all together. 95 "They will say there in their mutual bickerings: 96 By Allah, we were truly in a manifest error, 97 When we equalled you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 And none has brought us into error except the Mujrimun [Iblis (Satan) and those of human beings who commit crimes, murderers, polytheists, oppressors, etc.]. 99 Now we have none to intercede for us, 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 O that we might return again, and be among the believers!' 102 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 103 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 104
