And recite to them the story of Ibrahim (Abraham). 69 when he asked his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They replied: 'We worship idols and continue cleaving to them' 71 He said: Do they hear you when ye cry? 72 or can they benefit or harm you?" 73 They replied: 'No, but we found our fathers doing so' 74 He said: have ye observed that which ye worship 75 and what your grandfathers worshipped 76 Yet they are my enemies except the Lord of all the worlds 77 "Who created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 And it is He who feeds me and gives me drink. 79 "And when I fall ill, so it is He Who heals me." 80 "And He will give me death, then resurrect me." 81 and who, [hope, will forgive me my faults on Judgment Day! 82 My Lord! Vouchsafe me wisdom and unite me to the righteous. 83 "And give me proper fame among the succeeding generations." 84 and make me of those who will inherit the Garden of Bliss, 85 And forgive my father. Lo! he is of those who err. 86 "And do not disgrace me on the day when everyone will be raised." 87 the day when neither wealth nor sons shall profit 88 and when he alone will be saved who comes to God with a sound heart." 89 And the garden shall be brought near for those who guard (against evil), 90 whereas the blazing fire will be laid open before those who had been lost in grievous error; 91 And it shall be said unto them where is that which ye were wont to worship? 92 besides God? Can they help you or even help themselves?" 93 The idol worshippers, the idols, the rebellious ones, 94 And the soldiers of Iblees, all together. 95 They shall say, as they dispute there one with another, 96 "'By Allah, we were truly in an error manifest, 97 "When we considered you equal to the Lord Of The Creation." 98 "'And our seducers were only those who were steeped in guilt. 99 Now we have no intercessors 100 "Nor a caring friend." 101 "So if only were we to go back, in order to become Muslims!" 102 In all this, behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 103 Surely, Your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
