And recite to them the news of Abraham, 69 When he said unto his father and his folk: What worship ye? 70 They said: we worship idols, and we are unto them ever devoted 71 He asked: "Do they hear you when you call them 72 'Can they benefit you or harm you' 73 They said: "No. But we found our fathers doing so." 74 He said: have ye observed that which ye worship 75 you and your fathers, the elders? 76 “They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation.” 77 Who hath created me, and He guideth me. 78 and Himself gives me to eat and drink, 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me. 80 And He Who will cause me to die, then give me life; 81 It is He whom I expect to forgive my sins on the Day of Judgment. 82 [And he said], "My Lord, grant me authority and join me with the righteous. 83 And appoint me a tongue of truthfulness among the latter. 84 "Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 and forgive my father; for he is one of the misguided; 86 Do not degrade me on the Day when they are resurrected. 87 the Day on which neither wealth will be of any use, nor children, 88 But to him who comes to God with a tranquil heart." 89 And Paradise will be brought near to the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2). 90 And Hell is brought near to the perverse' 91 And it will be said to them, “Where are those whom you used to worship?” 92 Besides Allah? Can they help you or yet help themselves? 93 Then they will be thrown on their faces into the (Fire), They and the Ghawun (devils, and those who were in error). 94 And all the armies of Iblis. (Satan) 95 "They will say there in their mutual bickerings: 96 By Allah, we were truly in a manifest error, 97 when we deemed you [false deities] equal to the Sustainer of all the worlds 98 And none led us astray except the culprits. 99 Now we have no intercessors 100 Nor any sincere friend. 101 Oh, that we had another turn (on earth), that we might be of the believers! 102 In all this, behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 103 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
