The people of Noah [too] gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 105 when Noah, their brother, said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 106 I am a trustworthy messenger for you: 107 “Therefore fear Allah, and obey me.” 108 I ask no recompense of you for it. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 109 “Therefore fear Allah, and obey me.” 110 ۞ They said: "Should we place our trust in you when only the condemned follow you?" 111 He said: And what knowledge have I of what they do? 112 It is for my Lord to bring them to book, if you can understand. 113 I do not drive away the believers. 114 I am only a Prophet. 115 They said: "If thou desist not, O Noah! thou shalt be stoned (to death)." 116 He said, “My Lord, my people have denied me.” 117 therefore, judge decisively between me and them; and save me and the believers who are with me." 118 We saved him and those who were with him in the laden ship, 119 afterwards, We drowned the rest. 120 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 121 And lo, thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 122
